Well, it turns out I’ve managed to intersperse quite a bit of lounging into this weekend afterall, and by lounging, I mean lounging in the pool, on a raft, with drink in hand.
We have a waterfall that spills from our hot tub into the pool, creating a comforting ambience, enhanced only by the sounds of the Jimmy Buffett CD in the background. The pool area is surrounded by tropical plants – various types of palm tree, hibiscus and bougainvillea, as well as orange and banana trees. Our banana tree (more of a plant, really) hasn’t produced any actual bananas yet, unless the squirrels beat us to them. Banana trees only produce one crop of bananas, but do produce many new offshoots around the original plant. Elsewhere we have lemon and lime trees and pineapple plants. There is a pic of our pineapple in my moblog. I am proud of this one because we planted the top of a pineapple in the dirt and it has grown into a mature plant, successfully producing fruit.
We were supposed to spend the weekend in Key West, but my school demands have postponed that idea. I have managed to complete assignments in between lounging. I love getting away, but the prospect of relaxing for three days is equally compelling.
